RED FLAG 01
No per-lot COA
No published Certificate of Analysis for the lot you would receive, or a generic document with no lot number on it. Without a lot-matched COA, there is nothing to verify.
RESEARCH SUPPLY · VERIFICATION GUIDE
Before any order, ask one thing: does the supplier publish a COA for the exact lot you will receive, and does it show purity, identity and contamination testing? This page shows you how to check that documentation yourself, in about two minutes.

01 / DOCUMENT CHECK
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is the lab document behind a batch. Open the COA for the lot you are considering and check these three lines first. Tap each line to see what you are looking at.
High-performance liquid chromatography separates what is in the vial. On the COA, look for the purity line together with its chromatogram. A percentage on its own, with no trace behind it, is not documentation you can verify.
Mass spectrometry weighs the molecule itself. This line confirms the material in the batch matches the compound named on the label. Identity comes first, before any other number matters.
Endotoxin screening checks for bacterial contamination that is invisible in a sealed vial. If a COA has no endotoxin line at all, that test was not part of the batch record, so treat the batch as unverified.
Then match the lot number on the COA to the lot number printed on the vials you receive. If the numbers do not match, the document does not describe your material. Sample layout shown for illustration only. Always read the published COA for your specific lot.
02 / CHECKLIST
Apply these checks to any supplier, including the one linked on this page. If you cannot confirm a line yourself, treat it as not published.
| Check | What to look for | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Per-lot COA published | ✓ A COA tied to a specific lot number | ✕ Generic or missing COA |
| Testing lab named | ✓ Lab name shown on the COA itself | ✕ “Third-party tested” with no name |
| Endotoxin & sterility lines | ✓ Listed on the batch record | ✕ Not listed |
| Batch numbers on vials | ✓ Lot number matches the COA | ✕ Often missing |
| Physical US address | ✓ Published and contactable | ✕ Not published |

03 / WALK-AWAY SIGNALS
These are the same checks from the table above, stated as stop signs. If a supplier fails one, no lower price is worth the unverified material.
RED FLAG 01
No published Certificate of Analysis for the lot you would receive, or a generic document with no lot number on it. Without a lot-matched COA, there is nothing to verify.
RED FLAG 02
“Third-party tested” with no lab name is a claim, not evidence. Look for the testing lab named on the COA itself.
RED FLAG 03
Purity alone does not cover contamination. If endotoxin screening and sterility are missing from the batch record, the batch was not checked for them.
RED FLAG 04
No physical US address and no stated way to reach a person. A supplier you cannot locate or contact cannot answer for its documentation either.
04 / THE CHECKLIST
One line each. Use this as a checklist to hold any supplier to, and confirm each item on the published COA for your lot.
Chromatography that separates the batch contents so purity is measured, not asserted.
Mass spectrometry confirming the material is the compound named on the label.
Quantifies how much of the vial contents is the named peptide material.
Checks the batch for bacterial endotoxin contamination.
Confirms the batch record includes a sterility check.
Screens the batch for heavy-metal contamination.
05 / QUESTIONS
A COA is a Certificate of Analysis, the lab document for a specific batch or lot. Before ordering, open the COA for your lot and check the HPLC purity, mass-spec identity, and endotoxin lines, then match the lot number on the document to the lot number on your vials.
Shipping options, costs and current prices are set by the supplier and can change. Check the supplier’s own site at checkout for current terms.
